This week we were thrilled to welcome students from Box Hill School who came to Banstead Prep as part of their ‘Make A Difference’ project.

This is a charity day of two parts – in the morning, pupils go out into their community to do meaningful, helpful work at other local schools, foodbanks, churches and small businesses.

In the afternoon, they then spend time accumulating miles through various activities in the sports hall, multi-gym and field in a bid to reach an agreed target to fundraise for Maggies, the school’s charity partner.

Maggie’s is an organisation supporting those with cancer and going through a difficult and challenging time financially and emotionally.  They provide free cancer support through courses and workshops, support groups, counselling and much more.

Box Hill’s visit was well-timed for National Gardening Week too as their students helped to weed and plant in our outside classroom, paint the planters at the front of school and clean, then replant, the pond.

We always enjoy strengthening our relationships with local senior schools to help us support parents and children to identify and prepare for their choice of secondary school.  We are proud of the fact that almost all of our current Year 6 cohort were offered a place at their first-choice school this year!
