Our vision is to be a school that challenges, develops and nurtures every child, where every child is free to be themselves. We constantly strive to change and to improve, to deliver a modern education that prepares our children for an exciting future, encouraging them to aim high and dream big.
The Life Skills curriculum at Banstead Prep provides children with an opportunity to practise and develop important, transferable life skills. These directly relate to the BPS Learner Powers: Collaboration, Leadership, Independence, Curiosity, Adaptability, Communication, Resilience, and Pride. Through a carefully curated range of exciting lessons and activities, children in Years 3 โ 6 develop their โlearner powersโ; these include but are not limited to, design challenges, critical thinking activities, debates, money skills, first aid, and cookery.

What an incredible showcase of creativity at this yearโs StorySLAM! ๐ค๐
From adventurous carrot armies to magical coats, racing lawnmowers, Greek gods, future worlds and more, our young storytellers captivated the audience with confidence, imagination, and outstanding writing talent.
Each child brought their story to life with expressive performances that made us laugh, gasp โ and sometimes even left us asking for sequels! Their creativity, bravery, and passion for storytelling shine brightly, and we couldnโt be more proud.
Swipe for a few snippets from the winning stories! ๐๏ธ
A huge well done to all our finalists and to our brilliant English team for inspiring such extraordinary work.
Colour exploration was a real highlight of the week in Nursery ๐จ
The children explored colours in a hands-on, sensory way by swapping paintbrushes for their hands. The children were fascinated as they rubbed different coloured paint together and watched brand-new colours appear. This simple activity encouraged curiosity, experimentation, and lots of excited chatter as they predicted what colours they might create.
It was wonderfully messy and brilliantly fun โ supporting creativity, sensory development, and fine motor skills. And of course, they rounded it all off with some very expressive (and very messy!) freeโhand mark making. โจ
