Our vision is to be a school that challenges, develops and nurtures every child, where every child is free to be themselves. We constantly strive to change and to improve, to deliver a modern education that prepares our children for an exciting future, encouraging them to aim high and dream big.
The Life Skills curriculum at Banstead Prep provides children with an opportunity to practise and develop important, transferable life skills. These directly relate to the BPS Learner Powers: Collaboration, Leadership, Independence, Curiosity, Adaptability, Communication, Resilience, and Pride. Through a carefully curated range of exciting lessons and activities, children in Years 3 – 6 develop their ‘learner powers’; these include but are not limited to, design challenges, critical thinking activities, debates, money skills, first aid, and cookery.
In Maths, Reception have been diving into the concepts of capacity and investigating what floats and sinks. The children tested a variety of classroom objects to see whether they would stay afloat or sink to the bottom, carefully recording their results in a tick-list table. They even became little engineers by creating their own foil boats to see how many bears their boats could hold before sinking.
A fantastic hands-on way to learn about weight, balance, and problem-solving!
Join us for a relaxed, informative evening at Banstead Prep to help you feel confident and prepared for this exciting next step!

Nursery were so excited this week to welcome a very special guest – George the tortoise!
The children loved learning all about George, including what he eats for dinner, and they even had the chance to gently hold him. It was wonderful to hear so much fantastic vocabulary as the children described his shell, legs and slow movements.
A truly memorable, hands-on learning experience that sparked curiosity, confidence and lots of smiles! 💚
